Firstly, the painting portrays this empty eerie diner at night.The streets are empty and all the buildings around the diner are also in complete darkness. In the video they say how it feels isolated which is the same as today as most people are staying at home and away from streets and shops over the Corona Virus. This painting could also be used to demonstrate the effect that isolation has on people. It can be lonely and eerie as nobody knows what is really happening. Secondly there is a cash register in one of the windows. This shop is in darkness and there doesn’t seem to be anything else in there but the cash register, this could be used to describe financial difficulties that we could face in the coming weeks. She has worked on huge theatrical productions such as Sweeney Todd and Pagliacci. She was also the chief make-up artist for the nightmare Realm here in Cork, which made us all jump out of our skin. This 2-hour workshop allows the students to get creative as they learn how to create burns, scars, cuts and lots more with make-up. They also gain an insight into her career journey. Having fun while learning is a key element to this programme. The highlight of the day is when the students run a mock murder trial where each of them has a role as a solicitor, barrister, defendant, prosecution witness, defence witness, registrar or juror. The intergenerational quiz is very popular, the aim being to connect together younger and older generations.. Two TY students are paired with two older people in a team. The combined knowledge of the different generations produce a powerful battle of wits as communities pitch their skills and knowledge. Competition and ambition meet fun and laughter. The quiz which hosts approximately 45 teams promotes friendship and cooperation between the generations, highlighting both have something to offer each other. "It's great fun. One example of a theatre visit was Irish Comedian Ger Carey – TY comedy tour. The instructors here run quality, focused, fun sessions with the participant at its core. Students challenge themselves and have lots of fun. One area of particular interest to our students is the water park. Ballyhass lakes is home to Munsters, largest and most exciting inflatable water park. Covering over 40m squared of an old quarry lake, students can, jump, slide, bounce and race each other around the wipeout style course. Working in teams, students are involved in every stage of the business and get to do everything a real life entrepreneur would do, from coming up with the business idea, market research, production, finance as well as sales and marketing etc. The teams take part in a regional competition in December and aim to win awards for their various categories. Regional winners will compete at the annual All-Ireland Student Enterprise finals and a number of mini-companies are invited to attend a bootcamp for student entrepreneurs in UCC each year. SciFest @ School is where a second-level school hosts their own in-house SciFest STEM fair. Students will work individually or as part of a group on a scientific project during the year. We will then host our very own Scifest at CCN which is externally judged. Students will display and present their projects to the panel of judges. After this, students can progress to Scifest @ College which is the regional level of the competition. This is usually held in MTU. It is a cross-curricular programme comprising of a series of modules designed to encourage maturity, initiative, responsibility and leadership skills in pupils. The Programme gives pupils the knowledge and skills to support all roles required in the effective staging of Gaelic Games. As part of the Programme students are challenged to organise and run both on-field and off-field events for other students and for the broader community and Gaelic games clubs. Darragh O’ Bric It was a cold winters day, and it was the 27/03/1988. There was a lot of conflict between the people in England and the government. There had been many outbursts of the gangs in London as they had been bombing the main buildings, e.g. Big Ben, the London Eye and they have succeeded without getting caught. There is new information released that they are going to attack the King because of all the things he has not done. The King has doubled his security and has the British army surrounding his castle. Despite all her efforts, the gangs of London came at them where nobody would expect….through the front door. It was like walking into their funeral, but they didn’t care as long as the King was dead. As the civil war went on the army could not hold off the gangs anymore because of the many different ways they were coming. So the King had to go to the last resort MI6. These were a group of highly trained operatives. As the gangs got closer and closer to the King, the faster MI6 had to get there. It was the gangs of London’s worst nightmare the MI6 had arrived coming up from the sewers, parachuting from a plane and even driving in armoured cars. The gangs had no choice but to retreat. The only problem was MI6 was not leaving them to get away, so they circled them and shouted “drop your weapons”, but only the smart ones did whereas 3,000 to be exact tried shooting there way out. They did not survive. Three thousand nine hundred eighty-four people died that day, and it is a day that England will never forget.
